Cheal is an award-winning multi-disciplinary consultancy offering Engineering, Surveying and Planning expertise to a national client base.  Our Rotorua office is small and dynamic with a wealth of experience, we know our land and we know what it takes to deliver exceptional outcomes to our clients.

We are looking for either an Intermediate Planner with aspirations to advance to a Senior Planner role, or an established Senior Planner to join our Rotorua team.  As a Planner for Cheal, you will be working on diverse projects, managing resource consent applications, providing expert planning advice to clients and councils,  improving service quality, and providing valuable technical expertise.

The perfect fit for this role will have

• A Degree in Environmental Planning or similar.
• Experience within either the Consulting or Local/Regional Council sectors.
• At least 3 years’ experience within the New Zealand planning environment.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• General understanding of Māori cultural values, tikanga and Treaty of Waitangi.
• Strong drive to achieve results and pride in delivering a great experience for your clients.
